Sub:     PROVISION OF SECURITY DURING TRANSSHIPMENT OF TRAIN PASSENGERS FROM QUETTA TO MACH & VICE VERSA

Dear Sir,

As per orders received from the Pakistan Railways Headquarters office Lahore the work for the re-construction of compromised bridge No. 259 Q at KM 340/1-2 between Kalpur-Dozand Stations will be expeditiously undertaken within a couple of days and will require upto 45 days for complete execution.

The Headquarter Office Lahore has directed for resumption of train service in the meantime from Mach Railway Station. Whereby passengers will be transported by road from Quetta to Mach & Mach to Quetta in similar fashion.

1st Meeting in this regard was held with Commissioner/Quetta, Secretary/RTA, Assistant Commissioner/Political for arrangement of suitable buses & security in transit to & from Mach. The Railways has been informed that as per Government of Balochistan circular the levies force has been dis-engaged from security service & merged under Inspector General of Police Department.

During previous such road opertation 12 levies persons were developed on the buses 2 each in one bus for the journey between Quetta to Mach and Mach to Quetta.

You are requested to ensure provision of security to the buses in transit between Quetta to Mach & vice versa, w.e.f. 30th August, 2024 for train arriving from Peshawar to Mach at 16:00 hrs and from Quetta to Mach dated 31.08.2024 at 08:30 am from Quetta Railway Station.
