NHA Enforces 100% M-Tag Regime from February 1st, 2025–Toll Charges Increased for Non-M-Tag Vehicles:
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued a major notification regarding the implementation of a 100% M-Tag system across all motorways in Pakistan. As per the latest directive, starting February 1, 2025, vehicles without an M-Tag or those with insufficient balance will be required to pay an additional 25% toll fee, with a minimum charge of Rs. 50.
This decision aims to streamline toll collection, reduce congestion, and promote digital payment methods for a seamless travel experience on Pakistan’s motorways. The initiative aligns with global best practices in smart transportation and ensures faster passage through toll plazas, eliminating cash handling delays.
Motorists are advised to register for M-Tag before the deadline to avoid paying extra charges. The NHA urges all travelers to comply with the new policy, emphasizing that manual toll payments will no longer be entertained without the additional surcharge. Notification Describes;
