Punjab Government Directs Exam Staff to Stay on Duty During Board Exams:
The Punjab Government has issued an important government notification regarding the 1st annual examinations of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) 2025. Under the Punjab Essential Services (Maintenance) Act, 1958, all Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Invigilation Staff, Mobile Inspectors, Distributing Inspectors, Resident Inspectors, Paper Setters, Head Examiners, and Sub Examiners are required to stay at their assigned duty locations until the completion of the examinations.
This directive, issued by the Chief Secretary Punjab, is aimed at ensuring smooth, transparent, and fair conduct of board exams across the province. The Punjab Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has been given the responsibility to implement these orders effectively.
The SSC exams will commence from 4th March 2025, while HSSC exams will begin from 29th April 2025. The Punjab Government has made it clear that no official or staff member assigned to the examination process will be allowed to leave their place of duty until the exams are successfully conducted. No.SO(Cab-I)2-7/2015.- In exercise of the powers conferred under section 4 of the Punjab Essential Services (Maintenance) Act, 1958 (XXXIV of 1958) read with Notification No. SO(Cab-1)2-7/2015, dated 01.07.2024, Chief Secretary, Punjab is pleased to direct that Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Invigilation Staff, Mobile Inspectors, Distributing Inspectors, Resident Inspectors, Paper Setters, Head Examiners, Sub Examiners and such other officers/officials engaged in conduct of 1st annual examinations of Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate starting from 04.03.2025 and 29.04.2025 respectively shall remain on duty as per duty roster issued by the concerned Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and shall not depart out from the place of their posting.
2. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force till conclusion of the aforesaid examinations.
