Deputy Commissioner ICT Cracks Down on Illegal Sale and Use of Tinted Glass and Fancy Number Plates-Notification

SUBJECT:     BAN ON SALE/PURCHASE/USE OF TINTED GLASS PAPER, FANCY NUMBER PLATES, FLASHER LIGHTS AND HID LIGHTS.

It has been brought to the notice of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad by Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad that sale, purchase and use of the tinted glass paper, fancy number plates, flasher lights, High Discharge Intensity lights is being carried out in the territorial toots of Islamabad. This is in sheer violation of the Notification no. 5(12)-Law2021-Vol-II-1721 dated August 2^nd, 2024 issued by Office of the Chief Commissioner Islamabad under Section 43 of the West Pakistan Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1565.

In this regard, it is pertinent to emphasise that issuance of tinted glass permission is banned since March 31^st, 2013 and since then not even a single NOC has been issued by the Ministry of Interior. Therefore, you are urged to bang this into the knowledge of all traders/shopkeepers that compliance to the afore-mentioned directives is mandatory. In case of any non-compliance the relevant department will initiate strict punitive action against elements involved in sale, purchase and use of tinted glass paper, flasher lights, HID lights and fancy number plates as per law.

Your proactive cooperation in this regard will be instrumental in making Islamabad safe and secure for all. A compliance report in this regard may please be furnished to this office at the earliest.
