The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has released key performance statistics in response to the Hardship Allowance request, demonstrating its commitment to efficiency and service excellence. According to official data, FESCO has outperformed several NEPRA-set targets in line losses, recovery rates, and meter reading accuracy, further strengthening the case for employee incentives.
Key performance highlights for the period July 2024 to February 2025 include:
- Line Losses: FESCO achieved a significantly lower 5.71% loss, well below NEPRA’s 8.38% target.
- Recovery Position: FESCO maintained an impressive 99.73% recovery rate, just shy of the 100% target.
- Mobile Meter Reading Accuracy: Achieved 98% accuracy, close to the 100% goal.
- Theft Cases & FIRs: Out of 7,153 referred cases, 5,198 FIRs were registered, reflecting a strong legal stance against electricity theft.
- New Connections Issued: 196,553 new connections were successfully installed, including 300 industrial connections.
These performance metrics highlight FESCO’s operational efficiency and reinforce the legitimacy of granting the Hardship Allowance to employees. With budgetary approval of Rs. 518 million already confirmed, the final decision now rests with the Board of Directors (BOD), expected to review the case soon.
