SUBJECT: OPENING OF ACCOUNTS LINKED TO THE MAIN ACCOUNT OF LOCAL COUNCILS OF SINDH FOR G.P. FUND, BENEVOLENT FUND, PENSION COMMUTATION ETC
Reference: DEVOLUTION OF PENSION AND PROVIDENT FUNDS TO TOWN MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS (DEFUNCT DISTRICT MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS / DISTRICT COUNCIL KARACHI)
With reference to the subject noted above, it is informed that the Honorable High Court of Sindh in its order dated 12-03-2025 in C.P. No. D-3393 of 2023 passed directions to the Sindh Bank Limited not to open any salary account of Local Councils without prior concurrence of the Secretary Local Government & HTP Department. However, the other type of accounts (Pension Commutation, Benevolent Fund and G.P. Fund etc.) for the Local Councils can be opened.
2. In this regard, accounts of all the local councils of Sindh Province linked to the main accounts for Pension Commutation, Benevolent Fund and G.P. Fund etc. may be opened.
3. Accordingly, the Sindh Bank Limited is requested to take necessary action in the matter, so that the compliance of Honorable Court be made, as per rules / policy.
