Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Decide Ramadan Moon Sighting on 28th February 2025–Press Release:
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially announced the date for the moon sighting meeting to determine the beginning of Ramadan 1446 AH. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene on Friday, 28th February 2025 (29th Shaban 1446 Hijri) at the Auqaf Department building in Peshawar, while Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will hold simultaneous meetings at their respective headquarters.
The meeting aims to gather authentic reports on the moon’s visibility from across the country to determine the first day of Ramadan. Information regarding moon sighting will be communicated via designated officials and phone numbers, and the final decision will be announced by Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad. SUBJECT: ARRANGEMENTS FOR SIGHTING THE MOON OF RAMADAN-UL-MUBARIK 1446 A.H /2025.
Sir,
I am directed to say that the meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting the moon of Ramdan-ul-Mubarik 1446 AH will be held In-Shaa-Allah, in the evening of Friday the 28th February, 2025 corresponding (29th Shaban 1446 Hijri) in the building of Auqaf Department, Peshawar, whereas meetings of Zonal/District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held at their respective Headquarters at the same time. Similarly, the meeting of Zonal Ruet-e- Hilal Committee, ICT will be held at Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmon, 1st Floor Kohsar Block, Pak. Secretariat, Islamabad.
