No. SO (IS-II)1-1/2004. WHEREAS. there are credible threat alerts exist that pose a high risk to public safety. II has been requested by Deputy Commissioners, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Mutton, Vehari, Pakpottan. Okara, Gujranwalo & Wazirabad that restrictions under section 144 of Cr.P.C 1898 may be imposed on certain activities to ovoid subversive and anti-state activities by the miscreants and to avert any untoward incident in said districts.
- AND WHEREAS. it has been observed that in view of prevailing low & order situation and security threats, any political gathering/ assembly is likely to provide soft Forget to miscreants, which may not only pose serious security threat, but is also likely to cause threat to public peace and order as well as inconvenience to public at large.
- AND WHEREAS, there are sufficient grounds to proceed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, to prevent disturbance of public peace, safety of lives & property of public and tranquility in the said districts.
- NOW THEREFORE. Government of the Punjab. in exercise of powers vested under Section 144(6) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, hereby, prohibits all kinds of political assemblies, gatherings, sits-in, rallies, demonstrations, jalsas, Protests & such like other activities In districts Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, Pakpattan, Okara, Vehari, Gujranwala & Wazirabad for period of 03 days w.e.f October 10 to 12, 2024.
- This Order shall be given wide publicity for information of general public through publication in the official Gazette, daily newspapers and broadcasting through the Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television, Lahore, as news item.
