Punjab Government Unveils World Forest Day 2025 Action Plan for Schools:
The Government of Punjab’s School Education Department has issued a comprehensive World Forest Day Action Plan to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices in schools. Approved by the Senior Minister of Punjab, this plan outlines a two-phase strategy to encourage active participation from students, teachers, and private educational institutions in a large-scale tree plantation drive.
The plan consists of:
✔ Pre-Plantation Activities (March 16-20, 2025): Student mobilization, plantation preparation, and writing/art competitions in public and private schools.
✔ World Forest Day Activities (March 21, 2025): Mass plantation campaigns in schools, involving both public and private institutions, with parallel creative competitions to raise awareness about climate change.
Additionally, schools are required to document and upload their activities on the Plant for Pakistan platform and submit pictorial evidence via email for official reporting. This initiative aligns with the Punjab Government’s efforts to combat climate change, promote sustainability, and instill eco-consciousness among students.
