Punjab School Education Launches Major Hiring for Top District Positions – Apply Online Now!
The Government of Punjab has officially announced a recruitment drive through the School Education Department for the key leadership roles of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), District Education Officers (DEOs), and Deputy District Education Officers (DDEOs). This transparent, competitive, and merit-based process aims to fill top positions in all District Education Authorities (DEAs) of Punjab.
According to the notification issued on 20th May 2025, the eligibility criteria require candidates to be serving officers in BS-17 to BS-19, under specific age limits, holding Master’s degrees, and having at least 1-2 years of administrative experience. Importantly, relevant roles such as CEO, DEO, Principal, or Assistant Director will be considered valid experience.
The recruitment process will include a Screening Test, Written Assessment, and Interview with PowerPoint Presentation, all supervised by a Departmental Search Committee.
Deadline to apply online through HRMIS Portal is 25th May 2025. Applications by post or hand will not be accepted. Please find notification:

ANNOUNCEMENT
NO.SO(SE-1)1-427/2024(PHASE-III):Â Â Â Â Â Â Â School Education Department intends to select suitable candidates against the posts of Chief Executive Officers (DEA), District Education Officers (DEOs) and Deputy District Education Officers (DDEOs), in all District Education Authorities in Punjab, through a transparent, competitive and merit- based system in order to provide equal opportunities to all aspiring teachers, as per the following criteria:

2 | DEO | i. Serving in BS- 18 and BS-19; ii. Not more than 55 years of age; iii. Masters’ degree in any subject, iv. At least 01 year of administrative experience; v. Training course(s): vi. No major penalty during entire service. |
3 | DDEO | i. Serving in BS- 17 and BS-18; ii. Not more than 50 years of age; iii. Masters’ degree in any subject, iv. At least 01 year of administrative experience; v. Training course(s): vi. No major penalty during entire service. |
Note: Experience as Additional Directors, CEOs, DEOs, DDEOs, Principals, Senior Headmaster/Headmistress, Headmaster/Headmistress and Assistant Director would be considered as administrative experience.
2. Selection Process
The selection of the candidates against the posts of DEOS and DDEOS shall be made on the basis of screening test, written assessment and interview by the Departmental Search Committee.
2.1 Screening Test
A screening test of basic IT skills in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, email, and use of search engines shall be conducted in QAED IT labs for shortlisting of the candidates for the written assessment.
2.2 Written Assessment
Shortlisted candidates shall be assessed through a written test to ascertain their communication and management skills as well as the understanding of the education sector, besides general attributes.
Note: A candidate must obtain at least 50% marks in the written assessment to be eligible to appear before the Departmental Search Committee for interview/final selection.
2.3 Interview
The Departmental Search Committee shall interview eligible/qualified candidates. The eligible candidates would be required to make a PowerPoint presentation about their past performance and suitability for the post to the Departmental Search Committee.
3. General
i. Aspiring teachers may apply online ONLY through HRMIS Portal by using his/her login by 25th of May 2025.
ii. Applications received through ordinary post/by hand shall not be considered.
iii. No TA/DA shall be admissible.
