Punjab Government Takes Action Against Increasing Thefts in Public Schools:
The Punjab School Education Department has issued an official notification addressing the alarming rise in thefts at government schools across the province. A special intelligence report revealed that the lack of interest from administrative staff has contributed to the increased incidents of stolen school property, prompting serious concern from the authorities.
The Directorate of Public Instruction (EE), Punjab, has directed Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) across Punjab to take immediate preventive measures to safeguard government assets in public schools. The notification highlights that any negligence in addressing theft cases will lead to disciplinary action against those responsible.
To combat this issue, school administrations are expected to strengthen security, implement surveillance measures, and ensure accountability for missing government property. Additionally, authorities have been instructed to submit reports on theft cases for further action by the Punjab Government.

SUBJECT: THEFT IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS AND LACK OF INTEREST OF CONCERNED AUTHORITIES.
Reference Govt. of the Punjab, School Education Department letter No. SO (Probe) 2-1/2023 dated 24-01-2023 (Copy enclosed). The Competent Authority has showed great concern over the special report of the Intelligence Agency on the surging cases of theft in various Government Schools due to least interest of concerned Administrative Staff.
2. You are hereby directed to take necessary steps to halt this alarming situation and to ensure the protection of Government assets of Public Schools. In case of finding any delinquency, disciplinary proceedings may be initiated against the accused as per law. The report may be submitted to this Directorate for onward transmission to the Government without fail.
