Punjab Government Restructures Education Sector – Key Notification Released:
In a significant move under the Punjab Schools Reorganization Programme (PSRP), the Government of Punjab’s School Education Department has officially abolished 43,960 posts in outsourced schools. This decision affects 5,863 schools outsourced in Phase-1 and 4,789 schools being outsourced in Phase-2 of the program.
The affected staff from these schools will now be reassigned to public schools, ensuring that their expertise continues to benefit the education system. This restructuring is being implemented as per The Punjab Delegation of Financial Powers Rules, 2016, and further notifications will be issued at the district level.

No. SO(SNE) PSRP/2025: In exercise of powers conferred upon him in the Second Schedule, Part-I (Serial. No. 2) of The Punjab Delegation of Financial Powers Rules, 2016 issued by Government of the Punjab, Finance Department vide No. FD(FR)II-2/89) (P-1) dated 01-07-2016, 43,960 different posts detailed in Annexure-A of outsourced schools (ie, 5863 schools outsourced in Phase-1 & 4789 Schools being outsourced in Phase-II under the Punjab Schools Re-organization Programme (PSRP) are hereby abolished school-wise w.e.f the date of handing over to schools to the licensees. The staff of outsourced schools having been handed over to the licensee shall be at the disposal of School Education Department for their further adjustment in public schools.
2. The respective Chief Executive Officer, District Education Authority shall issue school wise Notification(s) for abolishment of posts of outsourced schools in exercise of powers vested them vide serial No. 01 of Second Schedule of the Punjab District Authorities (Delegation of Financial Powers) Rules, 2017, under intimation to this Department.
