Implementation of Section 144 Across Punjab: Public Gatherings Banned:

The Home Department, Government of the Punjab, has issued a crucial notification (No. SO (IS-II)1-1/2024) dated 21st August 2024, enforcing Section 144 across the province. This significant move, aimed at maintaining law and order, has resulted in a temporary ban on all forms of public gatherings, including jalsa, processions, rallies, sit-ins, and protests, for three days. The ban will be in effect from Thursday, 22nd August, to Saturday, 24th August 2024, and has been implemented in response to heightened security threats. Notification is as under;
