Introduction of “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics” Leads to Adhoc Service Discontinuation: Punjab Health Department:

The Government of Punjab, through the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, continues to advance its commitment to enhancing public health services across the province. As part of its ongoing healthcare reforms, the outsourcing of Basic Health Units (BHUs) under the rebranded designation “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic” aims to improve service delivery and operational efficiency. This initiative represents a strategic step in ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare for all, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

In light of these reforms, a significant change involves the termination of adhoc appointments for Medical Officers and Women Medical Officers (BS-17) currently serving in outsourced BHUs. This decision follows directives from the Finance Department to discontinue adhoc services to align resources with the evolving framework of outsourced healthcare facilities. The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has emphasized the need for strict compliance and timely submission of charge relinquish reports to maintain operational continuity and transparency. Subject :-       DISCONTINUATION OF THE SERVICES OF MEDICAL OFFICERS & WOMAN MEDICAL OFFICER (BS-17/ADHOC) WORKING IN THE OUTSOURCED BHUs

                        I am directed to refer to this department’s letter No. SO(H&D)7-1/2025(Misc) dated 13.01.2025, regarding outsourcing of the Basic Health Units (BHUs), under the designation of “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic” and to state that presently Eleven (11) Medical Officer & Woman Medical Officer (BS-17) are working on adhoc basis, in these BHUs. Furthermore, Finance Department has advised to discontinue the services of the adhocees serving in these Basic Health Units from the date of outsourcing w.e.f 01.02.2025.

2.                     Therefore, I am further directed to request you to discontinue / terminate the adhoc services of all the Medical Officers & Woman Medical Officer (BS-17/adhoc), at these BHUs, with effect from 31.01.2025, and submit a compliance report, along with a copy of the charge relinquish reports, to this department.
