Dengue Monitoring Protocols: Critical Update and Compliance Notification from the Punjab Education Authorities:
The Government of the Punjab, School Education Department (Monitoring Wing) has issued an urgent directive regarding the updation of dengue hotspots on the designated dashboard. This notification, addressed to key educational authorities, including the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF), Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA), Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), the Punjab Danish Schools and Center of Excellence Authority, and all Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) in Punjab, highlights the critical importance of compliance with dengue monitoring protocols.
Despite prior instructions issued on January 15, 2025, it has been observed that several districts have not updated their dengue hotspot data on the dashboard. The competent authority has expressed serious concerns over this non-compliance, as such delays can significantly hamper dengue prevention and control efforts across Punjab. Given the public health risks associated with dengue outbreaks, it is imperative that all relevant authorities take immediate action to rectify this lapse.
The directive reaffirms the importance of collaboration with health department teams to ensure that all identified dengue hotspots are accurately updated on the dashboard before the final deadline of January 31, 2025. Additionally, all dengue focal persons and school heads are instructed to strictly adhere to these guidelines. Any failure to comply will result in serious administrative consequences.
Considering the public health emergency posed by dengue fever, the Punjab School Education Department has categorized this task as “MOST IMPORTANT” and has emphasized that no leniency or negligence will be tolerated. SUBJECT: UPDATION OF DENGUE HOTSPOTS ON DASHBORD
                             Kindly refer to this office even letter No. dated 15th January, 2025 regarding subject matter wherein it was requested that all the dengue hotspots must be updated on dengue dashboard but it has been observed that some districts did not update dengue hotspots so far. The competent authority showed serious concern over non-compliance of the directions.
2.                          I am therefore, once again directed to request you to coordinate with health department team to ensure the updating of hotspots on dengue dashboard before last date i.e. 31st January, 2025. Furthermore, disseminate the above said directions to dengue focal persons and all heads of schools for strict compliance in true letter and spirit. In this regard, no laxity will be tolerated and action will be taken accordingly.
