Cultural Ceremonies Discontinued in Sindh Schools – Strict Government Notification Issued:

In a fresh and direct move towards streamlining official protocols, the Government of Sindh’s School Education & Literacy Department has issued a strict circular banning the presentation of Ajrak, Sindhi Topi, and other cultural gifts during any official school functions, meetings, or ceremonies. This decision also extends to stopping the practice of having students welcome officials and guests at such events.

This newly released government notification applies to all Directors, DEOs, TEOs, Headmasters, Headmistresses, and Principals of government schools and allied institutions. The authorities have been directed to implement these new instructions in letter and spirit, with zero tolerance for exceptions.

This major administrative shift appears to align with growing calls to focus school resources and energies on education, rather than ceremonial displays. The directive also aims to reduce undue pressure on students and schools to participate in official rituals that take time and effort away from learning and academic priorities. Refocusing on Education: A Welcome Shift from Ceremonial to Substance in Schools:

The Government of Sindh has taken a bold but necessary step toward minimizing distractions in the education sector, ensuring that schools prioritize learning over ritualistic hospitality. While cultural identity remains deeply respected, this notification acknowledges that such ceremonial practices should not interrupt or overburden the school environment or students.

With this new policy, students will no longer be required to participate in decorative welcoming functions, which often diverted attention from classrooms and academics. Additionally, teachers and school heads are relieved of the extra effort and expense associated with organizing gifts like Ajrak and Sindhi Topi during meetings.

This is not just another government notification—it’s a practical reform that aims to bring focus, discipline, and professionalism to school management.
