Sindh Government Extends Waiting Period for IBA-Qualified PST & JEST Candidates:
The Government of Sindh’s School Education & Literacy Department has issued a new notification, extending the waiting period for IBA-qualified Primary School Teachers (PSTs) and Junior Elementary School Teachers (JESTs). This extension applies to candidates who passed the Sukkur IBA test but are still awaiting appointment.
As per Recruitment Policy 2021/2022, Clause 14, Sub-Clause (ix), this decision ensures that vacant teaching positions due to retirement, promotion, or other reasons will be filled on a merit basis through the District Selection Committees. The process will continue until June 30, 2025.
This latest government notification brings hope to thousands of IBA-qualified candidates still waiting for their turn to be recruited. It also ensures that qualified teachers get fair opportunities to contribute to Sindh’s education system.

NO.SO (GA) SELD (Recruit./Policy/2021: In pursuance of Recruitment Policy 2021/2022, Clause 14, sub clause (ix) and in continuation of the earlier notification dated 02-3-2023, the waiting period of the candidates, who have qualified the IBA tests for the post of PSTs /JESTS through Sukkur IBA is hereby extended till 30-06-2025.
The District Selection Committees, shall scrutinize the credentials of the candidates from the waiting list (as per merit) and recommend against the posts which will fall vacant due to retirement, promotion, death etc on monthly basis, and shall continue till 30-06-2025
