Sukkur Division Imposes 90-Day Ban on Tree Cutting and Transportation Under Section 144 Cr.PC-Notification

BAN ORDER U/S 144 CR.PC

WHEREAS, the Deputy Commissioner, Sukkur vide his office letter No.DC/JB/ 814 dated: 26-08-2024 has informed that a letter No. G-II (b) 129 of 2024-25 dated: 23-08-2024 of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sukkur requesting therein to enforce Section 144 Cr. PC 1898 against deforestation in consequence of rampant tree cutting in Sukkur District. Therefore, the Deputy Commissioner, Sukkur has requested for imposition of ban under Section 144 Cr. PC on cutting and transportation of trees by any means for the period of 90 (Ninety) days in Revenue limits of District Sukkur.

AND WHEREAS, the Government of Sindh in Home Department vide its Notification No. SOJI/8-01(03)/ 2016 dated 21-05-2020 has delegated all the Divisional Commissioners in Sindh Province with powers to proceed under relevant section in their areas of jurisdiction.

Now, therefore, I, Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Commissioner, Sukkur Division, Sukkur, do hereby impose complete ban on the cutting and transportation of trees under the jurisdiction of District Sukkur for the period of 90 (Ninety) days, until further orders. This order shall essentially be implemented in consonance and not contrary to the notification and orders issued by Home Department Government of Sindh from time to time.
