This wage revision aligns with the minimum wage structure implemented in Punjab, ensuring fair compensation for workers in AJ&K. As per the notification issued by the Secretariat Industries, Labour & Mineral Resources, the new minimum wage rates are as follows: Additionally, employers may deduct specified amounts for providing housing accommodation (Rs. 459.03/month) and transport facilities (Rs. 98.28/month), subject to mutual agreement with workers. Furthermore, the notification ensures gender wage equality, stating that female workers shall receive the same wages as male workers for work of equal value. The government has also declared that if existing wages exceed the minimum fixed rates, employers are not allowed to reduce salaries. The revised wage policy aims to improve worker welfare, maintain fair compensation, and align with national labor standards. The President of AJ&K, upon the decision of the Cabinet of AJ&K and recommendation of Minimum Wages Board (meeting held on 18-09-2024) has been pleased to approve the following minimum rates of wages for unskilled workers employed in all industrial and commercial establishments of the State of AJ&K similar to those in Punjab. (c)          Rs. 1423.07/- per day (for 8 working hours) (d)          Rs. 37000/- per month (for 26 working days) 2.            The following deductions shall be allowed to the employers for providing housing accommodation and transport facility to the workers employed by them subject to agreement between the employer and the worker: (a)          For providing housing accommodation: Rs. 459.03/- per month (b)          For providing transport facility: Rs. 98.28/- per month 3.            For work of equal value, a female worker shall get the equal rates of wages as allowed to a man worker receives for work of equal value. 4.            The existing rates of wages, if higher than the minimum rates of wages as fixed aforesaid, shall not be reduced. However, the employer shall be free to pay higher rates of wages either unilaterally on his own initiative or by mutual agreement in view of any special considerations including higher grade of skill or experience or higher cost of living in a particular locality or any other reasons. 5.            The minimum rates of wages for all categories of workers (skilled & semi-skilled) as determined by the Government of Punjab vide notification No. SO (L&P) MW/2024 dated 05-09-2024 shall also apply to the workers (skilled & semi-skilled) employed in the Industries established in the territory of AJ&K. 6.            This notification shall come into force with effect from 18-09-2024. MWB/ADMIN-2024/90 Dated 01-November-2024 Notification Issued By: Sindh Minimum Wages Board, Government Of Sindh Sindh Government Clarifies Wages & Overtime for Security Guards: The Sindh Minimum Wages Board has issued a crucial notification regarding the minimum wage and overtime entitlements for security guards working in the province. According to Notification No. SO(L-II)/13-3/2016-1, dated 22nd October 2024, the monthly salary for a skilled security guard working 8 hours per day (6 days a week) is set at Rs. 38,280. However, many security guards work beyond 8-hour shifts, often putting in 12 hours or more daily. The Factories Act 2015 clearly defines overtime entitlements for such workers, ensuring that they receive double the standard hourly wage for any work beyond 48 hours per week in a non-seasonal factory or 50 hours per week in a seasonal factory. This move aims to protect the rights of security personnel, ensuring that they are fairly compensated for extended work hours. Security guard is RS,38280 thirty cight thousand two hundred eighty rupees. And the Security Guard who works for more than eight hours is mentioned in the Factories Act 2015 as per hour, its reference is given below. 68. Extra pay for overtime. – (1) Where a worker (a) in a non-seasonal factory works for more than nine hours in any day or for more than forty-eight hours in any week; or (b) in a seasonal factory works for more than ten hours in any day or for more than fifty hours in any week, he shall be entitled in respect of the overtime worked to pay at the rate of twice his ordinary rate of pay. In exercise of the powers conferred by Gilgit Baltistan Minimum Wages Act, 2019 under section 4 and 5 and on the recommendation of Gilgit Baltistan Minimum Wage Board, the Government of Gilgit Baltistan has been pleased to revise the Minimum rate of wages for un-skilled adult and juvenile workers of private Industrial and Commercial establishments in Gilgit Baltistan with effect from July, 2024. The revised minimum wages will be as follow:- S # CATEGORY OF WORKERS MINIMUM RATES OF WAGES Per       day      (for 8 working hours) Per         month   (for 8 working hours) 1 Adult un-skilled workers of Industrial & Commercial Establishments in GB Rs. 1233/- (Rs. 154 per hour) Rs. 37000/- (26 working days) 2 Juvenile workers, allowed by the law, employed in         Industrial            & Commercial Establishments in GB Rs. 1233/- (Rs. 154 per hour) Rs. 37000/- (26 working days) 2.                The minimum rates of wages shall apply subject to the following conditions:- a.     The employers in all private Industrial and Commerce Establishments shall pay to all workers, the wages at the rate not less than minimum wages as mentioned in the above table. b.    The minimum wages shall not be considered as maximum rates and any existing wages higher than the minimum wages mentioned in the table above shall not be reduced. However, the employers shall be at liberty to pay higher wages either unilaterally on their own initiative or by collective agreement in view of any special consideration included higher grade, skill, experience and higher cost of living in a particular locality or any other reason. c.     The minimum wages for other categories of workers shall, in no case be less than the minimum wages fixed herein. d.    The employers shall revise, where necessary, the rate of remuneration for piece-rated workers no as to ensure that workers in such piece-rated occupation are enabled by working eight (08) hours a day and 26 days in cach month as the case may, to receive wages not less than the minimum wages mentioned in the table above. e.     The minimum wages shall be applicable to time rated workers including temporary workers, piece rated workers and workers engaged on contract basis. f.     The workers shall continue to enjoy such facilities as house rent allowance or free house, electricity, water, conveyance, free medical aid, g.    gratuity, bonus, pension, any form of insurance, provident fund, recreation, subsidized food, education, holidays and leave with pay, attendance allowance and any other benefit already provided by the employers. h.    No variable or incentive allowance (non-statutory) or value of welfare facilities as mentioned in preceding clause shall be adjusted against the minimum wages. i.     Female and transgender workers shall get the same minimum wages as male workers receive for work of equal value. No.SOL/LD)/8-4/2024/MWB/3364-84: In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (I) of section 6 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minimum Wages Act, 2013 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No. XII of 2013), read with section 4 and sub-section (2) of section 5 thereof, and by revising the previously notified minimum wages, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the recommendations of the Minimum Wages Board, is pleased to declare the minimum rates of wages, as mentioned in Column No. 2 of the Table below, in respect of workers, as mentioned in Column No. 1 thereof, with effect from 1st July, 2024: TABLE Category of Workers Minimum Rates of Wages 1 2 Adult, unskilled, juvenile and adolescent workers employed in industrial establishments and commercial establishments, whether registered or unregistered located in the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (a) (b) Per day [for eight (08) hours of work] Per month [twenty six (26) working days] Rs. 1384.61/- (rupees one thousand three hundred eighty four and sixty one paisas only) Rs. 36,000/- (rupees thirty six thousand only) 2.                           The minimum wages shall be subject to the following conditions: (a)        the employers in all industrial establishments and commercial establishments shall pay to their workers the wages at the rate not less than minimum wages as mentioned in the Table above; (b)       the minimum wages shall not be considered as maximum rates and any existing wages higher than the minimum wages mentioned in the Table above shall not be reduced. However, the employers shall be at liberty to pay higher wages either unilaterally on their own initiative or by collective agreement in view of any special consideration including higher grade, skill, experience and higher cost of living in a particular locality or other reason; (c)        the minimum wages for other categories of workers shall, in no case, be less than the minimum wages fixed herein; (d)       the employers shall revise, where necessary. the rate of remuneration for piece-rate workers so as to ensure that workers in such piece-rated occupations arc enabled by working eight (08) hours a day and twenty six (26) days in each month, as the case may be, to receive wages not less than the minimum wages mentioned in the Table above; (e)        the minimum wages shall be applicable to time rated workers including temporary workers, piece-rated workers and workers engaged on contract basis as per sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Act ibid; (f)        the workers shall continue to enjoy such facilities as house rent allowance or free house, electricity, water, conveyance, free medical aid, gratuity, bonus, pension, any form of insurance, provident fund, recreation, subsidized food, education, holiday’s and leave with pay, attendance allowance, and any other benefit already provided by the employer; (g)       no variable or incentive allowance (non-statutory) or value of welfare facilities as mentioned in preceding clause shall be adjusted against the minimum wages; (h)       the daily/weekly working hours, conditions of overtime, work on weekly holidays or rest and on paid holidays etc, shall be regulated by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Factories Act, 2013, Act ibid and other relevant labour laws for the time being in force; (i)        the provisions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Factories Act, 2013 and other labour laws for the time being in force shall be applicable generally but more particularly with regard to the daily/weekly working hours, conditions of overtime work, work on day of rest and other similar matters; (j)        the wages of apprentices shall be regulated in accordance with the provisions of the Apprenticeship Ordinance, 1962; and (k)       female and trans gender workers shall get the same minimum wages as male workers receive for work of equal value.
