Pre-1st Year Classes 2025 – Punjab Government Launches Early Admissions Drive:
The Punjab Higher Education Department has announced the implementation of Pre-1st Year Classes 2025 across all public sector colleges in Punjab. This initiative aims to ensure a smooth transition for students who have recently appeared in their 10th-class examinations, enabling them to begin their higher secondary education early. The Pre-1st Year classes will commence from April 7, 2025, based on 9th-class marks.
To maximize student enrolment, a province-wide awareness campaign will be launched. Public colleges are required to use banners, posters, social media promotions, and community engagement activities to encourage admissions. Additionally, monthly tests will be conducted to track student progress.
All Directors of Education (Colleges) in Punjab must ensure a uniform timetable is followed across all institutions. Strict monitoring and inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance. Below is the official notification detailing the instructions for Pre-1st Year admissions in Punjab.

SUBJECT: IMPLEMENTATION OF PRE-1ST YEAR CLASSES 2025 IN ALL PUBLIC SECTOR COLLEGES ACROSS THE PUNJAB
With reference to the subject cited above.
Public sector colleges play a crucial role in providing quality education, and an early enrolment drive is essential to facilitate students transitioning from secondary to higher secondary education. With approximately 1.2 million students appearing in the 10th-class examinations across Punjab, it is imperative to commence Pre-1st Year classes from 7th April 2025 based on 9th-class marks.
To maximize outreach, you are required to ensure an extensive enrolment campaign should be launched through banners, posters, and standees displayed at college gates, and public places. Awareness shall also be created through social media platforms, and short video ads. Traditional methods like community engagement will further strengthen the campaign. Colleges must actively engage in local outreach by collaborating with school heads, organizing open house events, setting up admission counselling desks, and mobilizing student ambassadors to promote enrolment.
You should prepare a single consolidated timetable for Pre-1st Year classes to the followed in all the colleges in your division and share it with the Focal Person of this directorate at director.general.doic@gmail.com. Additionally, you are required to ensure monthly teats and maintain test record at college level to be furnished on demand.
Strict action will be taken against any officer found misreporting or falsifying data. To ensure compliance and transparency, an inspection team comprising the officers of this directorate can inspect any college across the Punjab.
Miss Rabia Saddique, Assistant Director (O/o DPIC), is nominated as the Provincial Focal Person. She is directed to closely monitor this campaign of all divisional directors and any non-compliance should immediately be reported to undersigned.
