Balochistan Government Enforces Section 144 for Public Safety:

To maintain law and order and ensure public safety, the Government of Balochistan has officially imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 1898 across the province. This urgent measure comes in response to growing concerns over potential threats to public peace and security.

Under this notification, a complete ban has been placed on the display or use of weapons, as well as public gatherings, sit-ins, processions, and rallies of five or more people. This restriction is being enforced with immediate effect for a period of 15 days to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain harmony throughout Balochistan.

This action is in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all citizens. Authorities, including law enforcement agencies, have been directed to strictly implement this order and take necessary steps to prevent any violations. Please find the notification below:

ORDER.

NO.SO(Judl:)8(31)2024/1002-1024/. WHEREAS, it has been made to appear to the Government of Balochistan that there exists fear of breach of peace and threat to the general law & order in the Balochistan Province.
2. AND WHEREAS, the Government of Balochistan believes that there are sufficient grounds to proceed under Section 144 of “The Code of Criminal Procedure 1898” as an immediate preventive and speedy remedy and the directions hereinafter appearing, are necessary to ensure public safety, conserve lives, and maintain peace and tranquillity in the Balochistan Province.
3. NOW, THEREFORE, the Government of Balochistan, in exercise of powers, conferred under Sub-Section (6) of Section 144 C.r.P.C 1898, is pleased to impose complete ban on “display/use of weapons, gatherings (sit-in and processions/rallies) of five (05) or more than five (05) persons,” in the entire Province of Balochistan with immediate effect for a period of fifteen (15) days.

The Government of Balochistan has taken a firm stance to uphold peace and stability through the enforcement of Section 144. Citizens are urged to comply with the imposed restrictions, as violators may face strict legal consequences under the relevant provisions of the law.

This temporary restriction is crucial in preventing any disruptions to public order and ensuring the safety of residents. Law enforcement agencies, including the police and Frontier Corps, have been instructed to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to enforce compliance across the province.
