Punjab Govt Addresses Teacher Shortage for SSC/HSSC Exams 2025:
The Government of Punjab, School Education Department, has issued an urgent notification regarding the poor response of teachers for examination duties in the upcoming SSC and HSSC 1st Annual Examinations 2025. The notification highlights key challenges, including district administrations restricting teachers, inspection fears, and hesitation among education authorities to allow teachers to perform exam duties.
With SSC exams set to begin on 4th March 2025 and HSSC exams on 29th April 2025, the Punjab Education Department has urged District Education Authorities (DEAs) to ensure teachers’ availability for exam duties. The smooth conduct of exams depends on the active participation of educators, and any delays in fulfilling these responsibilities may disrupt the examination process.
All concerned authorities are directed to coordinate with the Controller of Examinations and address administrative concerns to prevent disruptions. Immediate action is required to avoid last-minute issues.

SUBJECT: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â POOR RESPONSE REGARDING AVAILABILITY OF HUMAN RESOURCE FOR CONDUCT OF UP COMING SSC/HSSC, 1ST ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS 2025.
                             I am directed to enclose herewith a copy of letter No:SO(Boards)13-1/2025 dated 12.02.2025 received from Section Officer (Boards). Government of the Punjab, Higher Education Department, stating therein that HSSC and SSC, 1st Annual Examinations, 2025, are scheduled to commence form 04th March, 2025 and 29th April, 2025, respectively.
2.           I am further directed to highlight the below mentioned causes resulting into poor of response from the staff deputed for examination duty:
i.            District Administration/Head of Institution does not allow the teachers to perform examination duty due to the fear of poor performance of their Districts
ii.           Marking of teachers as absent by the DMOS during inspection of Schools.
iii.          DEAS/Deputy DEAS & Heads of institutions hesitate to allow the teachers to perform examination duty due to fear of poor performance.
3.                          I am also directed to request you to provide the administrative support and coordinate with Controller of Examinations of your district to ensure availability of teachers for assigned duties of examination for smooth conduct of SSC/HSSC, 1st Annual Examination, 2025.
