Punjab Higher Education Department Cracks Down on Fake News with New Verification Cell:
In a significant move to combat misinformation, the Higher Education Department (HED) of Punjab has established a dedicated 24/7 verification cell to authenticate official notifications, circulars, and announcements. The initiative aims to prevent the spread of fake news and ensure accurate, timely information reaches students, educators, and the general public.
The newly launched helpline (042-99210039-42) will serve as a centralized verification hub for all HED-related communications. All stakeholders, including public sector universities, colleges, and autonomous bodies, are advised to confirm the authenticity of any HED-related information before sharing it further.

It is hereby notified for the general public, officers / officials working in public sector universities / colleges and other attached / autonomous bodies of Higher Education Department, that in order the ensure the rightful dissemination of any notification /circular/ information relating to Higher Education Department and to avoid any uncertainty caused by circulation of fake news, the Higher Education Department has established a dedicated cell at Higher Education Department with a 24 hours hotline 042-99210039-42. All the concerned are requested to get the confirmation of any notification / circular /information relating to Higher Education Department from the above-mentioned cell before passing the information any further.
