School Safety First – Heatwave Guidelines Are a Must-Implement for Punjab Institutions:
With the increasing impact of climate change, this step by the Punjab Government highlights a proactive approach towards student health safety. Schools are the second home for children, and ensuring their well-being during a heatwave crisis is the moral and legal responsibility of all educational institutions.
Parents also play an essential role in this. They are encouraged to ensure their children are dressed in loose-fitting clothing, stay hydrated, and avoid any physical stress during school hours. School managements must take extra care to maintain water availability, fix broken fans or cooling systems, and enforce strict rules against any outdoor sports during hot hours.
