KPK Government Approves Free Transport Service for Middle School Girls–Improving Access to Education | Notification
In a major development aimed at promoting girls’ education in rural Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a new Government Notification announcing a Free Transport Service for Middle School Girls starting from the 2025 academic year. Issued by the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) under the KPK Rural Accessibility Project, this initiative will benefit students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 across 10 underserved districts, including Kohistan, Torghar, Lakki, DI Khan, Charsadda, Kohat, and Bannu.
This initiative targets schoolgirls living 1.5 KM or more away from school premises—whether current students, dropouts seeking re-enrollment, or new entrants. The goal is to remove transport barriers, a leading cause of female dropout rates in rural areas.
School heads are instructed to inform students and coordinate with PIU for implementation. Field Monitors will facilitate logistics, while training sessions for PTC members and hired drivers will be organized soon.
This is a positive step toward ensuring equal education access for girls, and Vocal Pakistan is here to bring you the latest government notifications and updates from all provinces. Please find notification:

KP-RURAL ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT

New Transport Program a Game-Changer for Rural Schoolgirls in KPK | Government Initiative Explained:
The newly launched Free Transport Service for Middle School Girls is a commendable and much-needed initiative by the KP Government. Backed by the Communication & Works Department and implemented through the KP Rural Accessibility Project, this effort tackles a deeply rooted issue—transportation limitations preventing girls from attending school in remote districts.
This notification not only shows government seriousness in improving female education enrollment but also emphasizes coordination with school administrations through District Education Officers. The inclusion of dropouts and new admissions highlights the inclusive nature of the project.
The announcement is a timely move in line with Pakistan’s education reforms, and it ensures practical support for girls, especially in districts with high dropout rates. With this, KP sets an example for other provinces to follow.
