Bahawalpur District to Observe Public Holiday on 24 May 2025 in Honor of Nawab Sadiq Abbasi V:
The Deputy Commissioner of Bahawalpur, Dr. Farhan Farooq, has officially declared Saturday, 24th May 2025, as a local public holiday across the district. The notification, issued under the authority granted by the Punjab Services & General Administration Department, honors the Death Anniversary of His Highness Late Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi-V, the last ruling Ameer of the princely state of Bahawalpur.
This public holiday will be observed within the revenue limits of District Bahawalpur, providing government offices, schools, and institutions an official day off to commemorate the legacy of Nawab Sadiq Abbasi, who is widely respected for his contributions to education, governance, and the integration of Bahawalpur with Pakistan.

In exercise of powers conferred upon me vide Notification No. SOW-I (S&GAD)1- 4/2018(P-V) dated 13.01.2025 issued by the Government of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department, Lahore, I, DR. FARHAN FAROOQ, Deputy Commissioner, Bahawalpur, hereby declare 24th May, 2025 (Saturday) as Local Holiday in Bahawalpur District in connection with Death Anniversary of His Highness Late Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi-V, Ameer of Bahawalpur, in the revenue limits of District Bahawalpur.
