Punjab Government Announces Revised School Timings for Summer 2025:
The Punjab School Education Department has issued a new notification regarding school timings for the upcoming summer session (April 1, 2025, to October 15, 2025). The revised schedule applies to all public schools across Punjab and includes adjusted morning and evening shifts to accommodate students and teachers effectively.
According to the notification, single-shift schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, and until 12:00 Noon on Fridays. For double-shift schools, morning shifts will run from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (Friday), while evening shifts will operate from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (Friday).
Additionally, the new schedule introduces enhanced working hours for teachers, ensuring adequate time for lesson planning, resource preparation, and professional development activities. The government has directed Chief Executive Officers (District Education Authorities) to ensure strict compliance, warning that any negligence or failure to implement the new schedule will be dealt with under the law. NO.SO(A-1)1-31/2022: Consequent upon approval of the Competent Authority, the following school timings during summer session w.e.f 01.04.2025 to 15.10.2025 is hereby notified with immediate effect which shall be observed in all Public School in the Punjab:

2. All Chief Executive Officers (District Education Authorities) in Punjab are directed to ensure strict compliance of orders. Any negligence or non-compliance by CEOS (DEA) will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Note: The Chief Executive Officer (DEA) concerned may make adjustment of 15-minutes gap in opening and closing time of boys & girls’ schools on case-to-case basis.
