In view of the ongoing and severe heatwave across Punjab, the Government of Punjab has issued a fresh directive through the School Education Department to revise school timings across all public institutions. This Government Notification outlines adjusted hours for both students and teachers, effective from May 21, 2025 to May 27, 2025. The revised schedule aims to ensure the safety and well-being of school-going children and staff as temperatures continue to soar across the province.
According to this high-priority notification, public schools will operate on shortened timings during weekdays, while teachers are expected to utilize extended hours for academic planning and development activities. NO.SO(A-1)1-31/2022: Consequent upon approval of the Competent Authority following school timings are hereby notified due to constant heatwave w.e.f 21.05.2025 to 27.05.2025 for observance in all Public Schools across the Punjab:
A. FOR STUDENTS

B. FOR TEACHERS

| Monday to Thursday | 07:15 am to 12:00 noon | Resource Preparation and formulation of Lesson Plan for Classes. Continuous Professional Development (CPD), trainings, academic & co-curricular activities, etc. would be undertaken by all teachers of morning schools during enhanced school hours and on alternate Saturday. |

2. All Chief Executive Officers (District Education Authorities) in Punjab are directed to ensure strict compliance of Revised School Timings. Any negligence or non-compliance by CEOS (DEA) will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Note: The Chief Executive Officer (DEA) concerned may make adjustment of 15-minutes gap in opening and closing time of girls schools in the district.
