Punjab Higher Education Department Appoints New Vice Chancellor for UHE Lahore:
In a significant development, the Government of Punjab’s Higher Education Department (HED) has issued an official notification announcing the appointment of Prof. Dr. Zaib un Nisa Hussain as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics, Lahore. This appointment follows the recommendations of the Search Committee, which was initially formed under a notification issued by HED in May 2024.
As per the notification, Governor Punjab, in his capacity as Chancellor of the university, has exercised his authority under Section 12(6) and Section 9(4) of The University of Home Economics Lahore Act 2017, approving the appointment with immediate effect for a tenure of four years.
This decision marks a new chapter for the University of Home Economics Lahore, setting the stage for academic progress, research development, and administrative excellence under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Zaib un Nisa Hussain.

No. SO (Univ.)5-17/2024. Pursuant to the recommendations submitted by the Search Committee constituted vide Higher Education Department’s Notification No. SO (Univ.)5-1/2018.VOL-V dated 25.05.2024. The Governor/ Chancellor, in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 12(6) read with Section 9(4) of The University of Home Economics Lahore Act 2017 is pleased to appoint Prof. Dr. Zaib un Nisa Hussain, as Vice Chancellor, University of Home Economics Lahore, with immediate effect, for a period of four years.
