Punjab Education Department Finalizes Student Councils in Public Schools – Deadline Set for May 16:

In an important step toward promoting student leadership and participatory learning, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) has issued a final reminder to all Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) across the province to complete the formation of Student Councils in public schools by Friday, 16^th May 2025. This directive comes in continuation of the department’s earlier communication dated 28th April 2025.

The purpose of these student councils is to empower students, instill leadership qualities, and encourage responsibility within the school environment. All DEAs are instructed to follow the official guidelines already circulated and complete the formation process along with organizing pledge ceremonies in the presence of concerned Deputy Commissioners as chief guests.

The department has emphasized that this task is of top priority, and all activities must be well-documented with pictorial evidence shared via official WhatsApp groups and submitted in hardcopy format to the department. Please find notification:

SUBJECT:             FORMULATION OF STUDENTS COUNCILS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF PUNJAB

                        In continuation of this department’s letter of even number dated 28.04.2025 on the subject cited above.

2.                     I am directed to convey that the Competent Authority has directed for formulation of student’s councils in all public schools by the end of this week positively by 16.05.2025 (Friday) in the light of guidelines already circulated by the School Education Department vide letter under reference.

3.                     I am further directed to request you to execute the activities in an amicable manner in accordance with the timelines mentioned in the guidelines. updated status of the activities alongwith pictorial evidences may be shared in whatsapp groups and hardcopies of which may be furnished to this department Moreover, Deputy Commissioners concerned may be invited to witness the event as Chief Guest in the pledge ceremony, under intimation to this department.
