School Education Department Warns of Legal Action Over Delayed Seniority Lists:
The School Education Department of the Government of Punjab issues a critical reminder to all Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities regarding the preparation of seniority lists for elementary school teachers. This reminder follows up on a previous directive dated 12th December 2024, which instructed the submission of replies based on advice from the Regulations Wing of S&GAD. Despite the lapse of the stipulated time period, no response has been received, prompting grave concern from the department. Notification Describes;

Subject :- ADVICE REGARDING PREPARATION OF SENITORITY LISTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS (ENGLISH) AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN OTHERS CATEGORIES
I am directed to refer to this Department’s letter of even number dated 12.12.2024 on the subject cited above whereby you were required to submit reply regarding preparation of seniority lists of elementary school teachers as per advice of Regulations Wing of S&GAD bearing No. SOR-II(S&GAD)3-18/2024 dated 02.10.2024. However, it has been observed with grave concern that despite lapse of given time period, no reply has yet been received from your end till date.
2. You are hereby directed to submit report duly supported with justification /documentary evidence regarding inordinate delay along with notified seniority list as per advice of Regulations Wing, S&GAD referred to above. The requisite report must reach to this department within 03-days positively, failing which this department will have no option but to proceed against you under the PEEDA Act, 2006 not only against you but also against DEOs (EE-Male & Female), concerned staff dealing with preparation of seniority lists on the charges of inefficiency and misconduct regarding creating obstacles in the smooth functioning of official business and defying the lawful order of this department.

In conclusion, the timely submission of the seniority lists of elementary school teachers is crucial to ensuring effective administrative procedures within the education sector of Punjab. The failure to comply with this directive may lead to legal consequences under the PEEDA Act, 2006. Therefore, all concerned Chief Executive Officers are urged to expedite the submission of the required reports and seniority lists within the next three days. This proactive approach will facilitate smooth operational processes and uphold the integrity of official duties as mandated by the School Education Department.
