Sindh Education Department Issues Crucial Clarification for Junior Science Teacher Applicants:
The School Education & Literacy Department (SELD) of Sindh has released an important clarification regarding the qualification requirements for the post of Junior Science Teacher (BPS-14). This comes in response to queries from Sukkur IBA about the eligibility criteria for these teaching positions in elementary schools (Classes 1-8).
Key clarifications include:
- Minimum 14 years of education with science graduation (50% marks)
- Only Natural Science degrees (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, etc.) qualify
- B.Ed qualifications (1.5 to 4 years) with science specialization are acceptable
- Engineering and Computer Science degrees are not eligible for these positions

SUBJECT: CLARIFICATION NEFDED REGARDING THE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POST OF JUNIOR SCIENCE TEACHER (BPS-14) UNDER SCHOOL EDUCATION AND LITERACY DEPARTMENT (SE&LD) GOVERNMENT OF SINDH
REFERENCE: NO.STS/SEC/549/25 DATED: 07-05-2025
. I am directed to refer to your office letter on the subject captioned above and to clarify your queries about the required qualification fer the post of Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) (BPS-14) advertised by the School Education and Literacy Department and as under:

| 1. | The advertisement states, “Science graduates having at least 50% marks”, but does not specify the required number of years of qualification. Please clarify whether graduates having 14, 15, or 16 years of academic qualification can apply for the mentioned position. | It is clarified that the applicant (s) should possess the requisite Graduation with at least 50% consisting on minimum length, 14 years of education. Hence science graduates having 14, 15. or 16 years of academic qualification are eligible to apply for the mentioned position |
| 2. | Graduates having degrees of B.Sc/ADS. BS/M. Sc Computer Science, Engineering degrees (Computer System Engineering, Software Engineering. Telecommunication Engineering. Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering). Social Sciences, or any other degree classified under the umbrella of Science are eligible for the advertised position. | It is informed that the said posts are lying in the Elementary Schools to teach the science subjects from class 1-8. Hence the department needs the graduates in Natural Sciences only. Major courses are: Biology, Physics. Chemistry, Geology, Zoology, Botany, Ecology, Mathematics and medicine. (Complete list of Natural Science courses enclosed). Moreover, Associate Degree in Science with minimum 14 years of education shall be considered for the said position. Note: No degree of social sciences will be considered for this post. |
