Free Vision Checks in Sindh Schools Could Help Thousands—Here’s Why This Move Matters:
The Sindh government’s approval of the province-wide eye screening campaign is a powerful step toward integrating student health and academic success. Vision-related problems often go unnoticed in young students and may severely affect their ability to learn and perform in classrooms. With this program, thousands of children from underprivileged backgrounds can now access free vision tests and spectacles—possibly for the first time in their lives.
This initiative reflects a proactive approach to preventing blindness and ensuring that no child is left behind due to an undiagnosed eye condition. The collaboration between SELD and Vision for Education Foundation sets an example for other provinces to follow.
