Heatwave Forces Shift in School Timings Across Summer Zones in KPK:
The Directorate of Elementary & Secondary Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has officially revised school hours for all public sector institutions operating in summer zones, effective immediately. This change has been made in response to the extreme heatwave currently affecting the province, ensuring the health and safety of students and teachers.
According to the latest Government Notification, all primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools in the affected areas will follow an early morning schedule, starting as early as 7:15 AM, and concluding before midday. The new timetable includes structured periods for Nazra-e-Quran, subject classes, and recess, while Friday’s school day will end by 10:40 AM for all levels.
These changes apply only to schools in the summer zones. Schools in the winter zone will continue to follow the existing schedule. The notification serves as a proactive step to protect children from dangerous exposure to the rising temperatures. Please find notification:

Consequent upon approval of the Competent Authority, the following schedule for school timings till Summer Vacations in summer zones will be observed in the Government schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to current severe heatwave with immediate effect:
