Punjab Govt Mandates Anti-Corruption & Anti-Narcotics Awareness in Schools:
The Punjab Government has issued a significant directive to all primary and elementary schools in Lahore to launch awareness campaigns on anti-corruption and anti-narcotics. This initiative, spearheaded by the District Education Authority Lahore, aims to educate students on the dangers of corruption and drug abuse, ensuring they develop a strong moral compass and resistance against these social evils.
As per the official notification issued by the District Education Officer (W-EE), Lahore, schools are instructed to organize educational sessions, expert-led workshops, and parental engagement programs. SUBJECT: CIRCULATION FOR AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS OF ANTI CORRUPTION & ANTI NARCOTICS ASSOCIATION PAKISTAN IN ALL SCHOOLS & TRAINING CENTERS
With reference to the Chief Executive Officer, District Education Authority Lahore vide letter No 896/G-I Dated: 17-02-2025, all primary and elementary schools heads are instructed to ensure comprehensive awareness campaigns on anti-corruption and anti-narcotics within their institutions. These campaigns must focus on educating students about the dangers of corruption and drug abuse, equipping them with the knowledge to resist and report such threats effectively.
Key Directives for Implementation:
1. Student Awareness & Education: Schools must conduct regular sessions to educate students about the negative impact of corruption and narcotics. This includes interactive discussions, storytelling, role- playing, and informative presentations.
2. Engagement with Experts: Schools should collaborate with the Anti-Corruption & Anti-Narcotics Association of Pakistan to facilitate expert-led workshops, providing students with real-world insights into these issues.
3. Incorporation into Curriculum: Integrate topics related to ethics, integrity, and drug prevention into the curriculum, ensuring students understand the moral, legal, and social consequences of such activities.
4. Parental & Community Involvement: Organize sessions with parents and community leaders to reinforce these messages at home and in society.
5. Safe Reporting Mechanism: Establish a confidential reporting system within schools where students can safely report any corruption or drug-related concerns.
The enclosed official letters from the Ministry of Law & Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Narcotics Control, Punjab Police, FIA, Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, and other relevant agencies highlight the national urgency of this issue. Schools are expected to actively participate in this cause and submit regular reports on their awareness initiatives.
