Book Bank Initiative: Govt of Sindh Introduces Free Textbook Recycling for Students:
The Government of Sindh has taken a major step towards educational sustainability by introducing the Book Bank Initiative in all government schools. This initiative, directed by the Minister for Education, aims to recycle and redistribute textbooks for the upcoming academic session 2025-26.
As per the official notification issued by the Directorate of School Education (Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary), Sukkur Region, schools are required to collect textbooks from students completing their current academic year (KG to 10th grade) before the Annual Examinations 2024-25. A proper record must be maintained, and schools are instructed to upload the data to the Directorate’s official website for monitoring purposes.
This initiative will not only reduce textbook shortages but also promote the habit of reusing educational resources, ensuring that students from underprivileged backgrounds receive necessary learning materials.

SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF BOOK BANKS IN SCHOOLS.
It is to inform that Honourable Minister for Education has been pleased to pass the orders that the Book Banks shall be established in each school, in order to collect the Text Books from the students, who are going to appear in the Annual Examination (KG to 10th class) for the current academic year 2024-25 before the commencement of the Annual Examination.
You are therefore directed to ensure the collection of textbooks from all students and maintain a proper record, which shall be uploaded to the official website of the Directorate to monitor the schools’ progress. These books shall be provided to students in the upcoming academic session (2025-26), which will commence on April 1, 2025, as per the directions of the higher authorities.
Your personal attention to this matter is required, as it is of high priority in the best interest of education.
