Punjab Government Launches Mandatory Training Program for Promoted Officers (BS-16 to BS-17):

The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has officially issued a government notification announcing a 4-week mandatory Promotion Linked Training (PLT) for officers moving from BS-16 to BS-17. This training, as per the 2010 Promotion Policy, is essential for ensuring officers are equipped with professional skills and readiness for higher roles within the education system of Punjab.

The list of 1606 nominated teachers (892 male and 656 female) has been received from DPI (SE), alongside a separate list of 58 additional candidates, all of whom are required to attend the training. The training will be conducted at district level from May 26 to June 26, 2025, excluding Eid-ul-Azha holidays. Field offices of PECTAA and District Education Authorities have been directed to coordinate arrangements, ensure attendance, and provide proper logistics.

This is a significant step by the Punjab Government to improve the capacity building and performance of its educators, making this notification especially important for teachers, education officers, and DEAs across Punjab. Please find notification:

SUBJECT:             4-WEEK PROMOTION LINKED MANDATORY TRAINING OF BS 16 TO 17 OFFICERS IN THE FIELD.

.                        According to the promotion policy 2010 for Punjab, Promotion linked training from BS 16 to 17 is a mandatory process, designed to ensure that officers are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies for higher positions.

2.                           The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) is responsible for all the promotion linked trainings in PECTAA Punjab and field offices of PECTAA.

3.                           Now PECTAA has planned 4-week PLT (BS 16 to 17) of 1606 nominated officers whose list received from DPI (SE) (Lists Attached) at district level. It is also mentioned for your kind notice that two lists are attached with this letter. One seniority list of total 1548 (892: Male & 656: Female) that is received from DPI (SE) and another list of 58 participant (38: Male & 20: Female) is also received from DPI (SE) through different letters. These 58 participants must be included in this PLT starting from 26th May, 2025.

4.                           Field offices of PECTAA will conduct PLT of Teachers (BS 16 to 17) in all districts of Punjab from 26th May to 26th June, 2025 (Excluding Eid-Ul-Azha Holidays) according to the scheme of studies (Scheme of studies attached).

5.                           The plan for promotion linked training is as follow:

6.                           In this regard, Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities are requested to issue directions to the teachers who are eligible for PLT BS 16 to 17 in the list given above to attend PLT according to the given schedule.

7.                           The Field Officers PECTAA and Regional Program Managers are directed to coordinate with DEAS to ensure attendance of all participants. They are also responsible for the following arrangements for training:

  • Invitation letter to the participants for PLT.
    • Ensure renowned and competent Resource persons for the sessions.
    • Confirm accommodation for participants (if required).
    • Stay in touch with PECTAA head office for any emergencies and issues.
    • Ensure all the necessary arrangements of training keeping in view the weather condition.
