Maryam Nawaz Brings Major Relief: Punjab Ends Fees for Birth & Death Registration – Latest Government Notification 2025
In a move that’s set to make life easier for millions of citizens, the Punjab Government has officially waived all fees for birth and death registration across the province. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, this decision falls in line with the newly enforced Punjab Birth and Death Registration Rules 2025 and aims to simplify identity documentation for every citizen.
This free registration policy allows citizens to register births and deaths without any charges for up to seven years, and also does away with the previous requirement of a court decree for late registrations. What’s more, computerised certificates will now be issued at no cost, and digital registration will be mandatory to avail of essential public services.
This government notification is not only a step towards digitizing civil registration but also towards enhancing public access to basic rights.
