PM Youth Laptop Scheme Phase-IV Officially Begins – A Big Leap Towards Digital Inclusion:
The Government of Pakistan, under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, has officially launched Phase-IV (2024–25) of the highly anticipated PM Laptop Scheme. Through this initiative, the government aims to distribute 100,000 laptops to deserving students enrolled in public sector universities and higher education institutions across the country. This is a part of Pakistan’s mission to reduce the digital divide and empower the youth with tools for academic and professional success.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has activated the official web portal (www.pmyp.gov.pk) for student registration, where students can soon check eligibility criteria, quotas, and application procedures. Universities are also being directed to appoint or reconfirm Super Focal Persons to coordinate with HEC regarding student data verification, timely updates, and smooth laptop distribution.

SUBJECT: Launching of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, Phase-IV (2024–25)
Respected Sir/Madam,
Government of Pakistan under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, with an aim to facilitate students and reduce the digital divide faced by our society, has taken a commendable initiative to distribute laptops among young and talented students enrolled in the public sector higher education institutions across the country.
2. Higher Education Commission (HEC) is pleased to announce that all necessary preparations have been finalized to launch Phase-IV (2024-25) of the PM Laptop Scheme, in which 100,000 laptops will be distributed nationwide as per the approved quotas and criteria.
3. In this connection, the project will be officially launched within a week’s time. The official web portal https://www.pmyp.gov.pk for students’ registration has been activated and all relevant details including the eligibility and distribution criteria will be available on the portal in a couple of days.
4. Foregoing in view, you are kindly requested to nominate a Super Focal Person (if there is any change) at the earliest and share his/her details with HEC at maraziq@hec.gov.pk on priority basis. Key responsibility of the focal person will be to liaise between your institution and the HEC for all scheme-related matters. i.e. to ensure accurate and timely submission of students’ enrollment data, their verification and smooth distribution of laptops. The focal person of each university is also responsible for timely updating information about the degree programs, departments, faculty, and campus on a priority basis.
