Punjab Colleges & Universities to Remain Closed–Government Notification Released:
In an important development for students and educational institutions, the Punjab Higher Education Department has issued a fresh government notification regarding the closure of all public and private colleges and universities across the province. As per the directive, all educational institutions will remain closed on May 9 and May 10, 2025 (Friday and Saturday).
This closure also impacts all scheduled exams by BISEs, universities, and colleges, which are now officially postponed. This move is expected to affect thousands of students preparing for mid-year and board examinations. However, it is clarified that exams conducted by international examining bodies will proceed as per their original schedule.
This decision was taken by the competent authority to manage ongoing administrative or unforeseen circumstances. Students and institutions are advised to stay connected with official sources for the new exam schedule, which will be shared later. Please find notification:

No.SO(G)MISC/2025. Pursuant to the approval of the Competent Authority, it is hereby notified that all the public and private sector colleges / universities shall remain closed on 09-05-2025 & 10-05-2025 (Friday & Saturday).
2. Furthermore, all the examinations of Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISES) / Universities / Colleges in Punjab scheduled to be held on 09-05-2025 & 10-05-2025 shall stand postponed; the new schedule for which shall be announced separately in due course of time.
3. However, the examinations scheduled by on behalf of International Examining bodies shall not be affected by this closure/ postponement.
