Punjab Government Announces Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025:

The Government of Punjab has officially declared public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, in line with the Cabinet Division’s latest notification. According to the official announcement issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the public holidays will be observed from March 31st (Monday) to April 2nd (Wednesday), 2025, across the province.

This notification ensures that government offices, educational institutions, and businesses in Punjab can observe Eid celebrations without any work obligations. The Punjab Chief Secretary has also directed that the notification be published in major Urdu and English newspapers and given wide coverage through electronic media for public awareness.

Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most significant religious festivals, marking the end of Ramadan and bringing communities together in celebration. The three-day break will allow people to spend quality time with family and partake in traditional festivities.

No.SOW-I(S&GAD)1-3/2008(P-IV): In pursuance of Cabinet Division’s Press Release No.10-1/2025-Min-II dated 19.03.2025 and in continuation of this office’s Notification of even No. dated 13.01.2025 listing Public and Optional Holidays for the year 2025, It is notified for general information that 31st March to 02nd April, 2025 (Monday to Wednesday) shall be observed as Public Holidays in the Province of Punjab on the occasion of “Eid-ul-Fitr”.

2.                           The above Notification may be published in all major English and Urdu Dailies both at National and Regional levels, and also be given wide publicity through electronic media.
