Ensuring Road Safety – The Need for Speed Regulations in Punjab:
The decision to fix the maximum speed limit for motorcycles at 60 km/h is a proactive step by the Punjab Government to address rising road safety concerns. With thousands of motorcycles on Punjab’s roads, speed-related accidents have become a critical issue. By implementing this regulation, authorities aim to promote responsible driving habits and reduce fatal accidents.
Traffic police, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, will be actively monitoring compliance with this speed limit. Furthermore, a fortnightly review of motorcycle crash data will be conducted at the Chief Minister’s Office to assess the effectiveness of this measure.
By ensuring public awareness and strict enforcement, the government is taking decisive action to make Punjab’s roads safer for all. Motorcyclists are urged to adhere to the new speed regulations to avoid penalties and, more importantly, protect their lives.
