Additionally, the number of allowed attempts has been raised from three to four. This decision, approved by the Provincial Cabinet on February 17, 2025, is a one-time relaxation applicable only for the PMS exams in 2025 and 2026. This notification, issued under Section 10(A) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1978, aims to refine the operational framework of the Commission and enhance transparency in its examination and recruitment processes. Key additions include comprehensive definitions of roles such as Director, Controller of Examinations, Deputy Director IT, and Assistant Director Web, among others. These definitions ensure clarity in the responsibilities and functions of each position within the Commission. Notification Describes; KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION NOTIFICATION 10th January, 2025 Notification No.PSC/DDA-01/Vol-II/550 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 (A) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1978 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ordinance No. XI of 1978), the Commission is pleased to direct that in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Regulations, 2017, the following further amendments shall be made, with immediate effect, namely :- AMENDMENTS 1.            After Clause (m) of Regulation 2, the following new definitions shall be added as under :- (n)          “Director” means Director of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Director in the Commission for the time being. (o)          “Candidate” means any person who has applied for a post advertised by the Commission. (p)          “Controller of Examinations” means Controller of examinations of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Controller of Examinations for the time being. (q)          “Registrar Examinations” means Registrar of examinations of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Registrar of Examination for the time being. (r)           “Regulations” means Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Regulations, 2017. (s)           “Deputy Director Examinations” means Deputy Director Examinations of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Deputy Director Examinations for the time being. (t)           “Deputy Director IT” means Deputy Director IT of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Deputy Director IT for the time being. (u)          “Assistant Director Web” means Assistant Director Web of the Commission and includes an officer performing duties of Assistant Director Web for the time being. (v)           Words, expressions and terms not defined in these regulations shall have the same meanings, unless the context requires otherwise, as assigned to them in KP PSC Ordinance, 1978, KP PSC (Functions) Rules, 1983, KP PSC (Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 1974 or KP PSC Officers and Servants (Terms and Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1985 respectively. 2.            After Regulation 28 (L), the following new provisions (i) and (ii) shall be added as under :- i.             When a wrong MCQ(s) is reported during the ability / screening test, conducted by KP PSC, against any post, will be referred to the paper setter / examiner for confirmation. After receipt of confirmation report / reply of the paper setter / examiner, the Chairman KP PSC shall decide whether the benefit of wrong MCQ(s) will be extended to all the candidates and marks will be awarded to all irrespective of the fact whether the candidate have attempted the question or otherwise” or to exclude the wrong MCQ(s) from the paper and evaluate and award the marks solely for the left over questions. ii.            If any error is pointed out during the conduct of exam, then correction in the question shall be communicated/ announced immediately after confirmation from the Original Question Paper or Examiner as the case may be.
