Pakistan Railways Revises Online & POS Ticket Refund Policy:
Pakistan Railways has officially announced a revised refund policy for passengers who purchase tickets through the RABTA platform, including both online and Point of Sale (POS) counters. The updated policy aims to streamline the refund process, ensuring clarity and efficiency for passengers.
According to the latest guidelines, refund percentages vary depending on when the cancellation request is made. Passengers can receive up to a 90% refund if they cancel their tickets at least 48 hours before departure, while lower refund percentages apply closer to the departure time. For online ticket purchases, refunds will only be processed through the original payment method, with strict rules in place regarding last-minute cancellations.
Additionally, Pakistan Railways has introduced monitoring measures to ensure compliance with these policies. This update is crucial for travelers who frequently book train tickets through RABTA. Notification Describes;

Understanding Pakistan Railways’ Updated Refund Policy – Key Takeaways:
The revised refund policy introduced by Pakistan Railways brings significant changes for travelers using the RABTA app and POS counters. Passengers are now required to follow specific refund guidelines, including presenting their original ticket and CNIC for POS refunds and waiting for online refunds through their initial payment method.
One of the most important aspects of this update is that refund requests for online tickets will not be entertained at POS counters, and no refunds will be issued within 90 minutes of train departure. Additionally, full refunds will only be provided if the train is canceled or delayed by more than six hours.
These changes reflect Pakistan Railways’ commitment to improving its ticketing system and ensuring transparency in refund processing. Passengers are advised to carefully review the new refund rules before booking their tickets to avoid inconvenience.
