Double Marks Approved for “Ethics” as Substitute for “Religious Education”:
The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has issued an official communication addressing an important development in the educational curriculum for Grades IX to XII. The notification highlights the decision to grant double marks to the subject of “Ethics” as a substitute for “Religious Education,” applicable until textbooks for the latter are made available. This decision was deliberated upon and approved during the 180th meeting of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) held on November 18-19, 2024, at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) in Islamabad. The attached notification from the IBCC, dated December 2, 2024, further formalizes this decision, ensuring its implementation across relevant educational institutions. Notification Describes;

Subject :- GRANT OF DOUBLE MARKS TO “ETHICS” FOR THE SUBJECT OF “RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR GRADES IX-XII”

2. The agenda relating to the grant of double marks to ‘Ethics’ for the subject of “Religious Education for Grades IX-XII’ till the availability of the textbooks of “Religious Education” was presented before the IBCC Forum in its 180th meeting held on 18-19 November, 2024 at FBISE, Islamabad. The IBCC Forum approved the said agenda, accordingly. Notification of the IBCC dated 02.12.2024 is attached at Annex-A for further necessary action.
