SUBJECT: ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL SALE/ REFILLING LNG & LPG CYLINDERS IN POPULATED AREAS.
I am directed to refer to this department’s letter dated 25th June, 2024 on the subject noted above (copy enclosed) and to state that the Honorable Home Minister Sindh has expressed his displeasure over the non compliance of his directives regarding the illegal sale and refilling of LNG & LPG cylinders in populated areas.
It is crucial that the district administration takes swift and decisive measures to eliminate this threat to public safety. I am therefore directed to convey once again to take immediate and stringent action against all illegal sellers and refiners of LPG cylinders operating within your district, and to ensure that shops engaged in business of CNG/LPG be shifted/away from crowded and residential areas in order to prevent occurrence of tragic incidents as envisaged in the OGRA LPG (Production & Distribution) Rules, 2001, Civil Defence Rules (S.P Power) 1951 and Civil Defence Act, 1952 and other relevant rules.
Please ensure strict compliance with these directives and submit a comprehensive report on the actions taken, including pictorial evidence, at the earliest for the perusal of the Honorable Home Minister Sindh.
