During a recent inspection from October 8 to 11, 2024, officials observed that many private schools were violating Clause 7(4)(IV) of the KP-PSRA Regulations, 2018, as well as a High Court judgment (WP No. 1995-P of 2020). Schools were found to be charging capitation fees (admission fees) unlawfully and denying the mandatory 20% sibling discount for families with more than one child enrolled in the same institution. Khan Enhanced to 600 Beds: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Health Department has taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure by approving the upgradation of DHQ Teaching Hospital, MTI, Dera Ismail Khan. As per the latest Government Notification, the hospital is now upgraded from Category-B to Category-A, ensuring better medical facilities and improved patient care. This upgradation comes following the Provincial Cabinet’s approval in its meeting held on January 15, 2025. The move includes enhancing bed capacity from 242 to 600, which will greatly improve the hospital’s ability to accommodate and treat more patients efficiently. Additionally, a one-line budget allocation for 600 beds has been sanctioned to support the hospital’s operational needs. This initiative reflects the KPK Government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and providing top-quality medical facilities to the residents of D.I. Khan and surrounding areas.
