Subject:- COMPLAINT FILED BY ELECTION COMMISSION REGARDING ELECTION PROCESS OF WOMEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY PESHAWAR DIVISION ELECTION 2024-26.
The undersigned is directed to refer to the hearing conducted on 03-09-2024 before the Regulator Trade Organizations which was attended by the both the parties regarding complaint filed by the members of the election commission of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar Division. (WCCIPD).
2.                    During course of hearing, the counsel for the complainants stated that the Secretary General WCCIPD has appointed president of WCCIPD without holding the election and the election commission were asked to sign a notification of the selected members executive committee. On the other side, the counsel for the respondents denied the allegations and informed that the last date of nomination was 21-08-2024 and no nomination was received and hence the Secretary General sought guidance from the executive committee on the following:-
- We may extend the date of submission of nomination papers;
- We may issue a new election schedule;
- Any other option that the Executive Committee may advise.
3.                    The counsel for the respondents stated that the date of submission of nomination papers may be extended so that, if any member wants to contest election she may apply for nomination papers to the Secretary General. The counsel for the complainants agreed to the option for extension date of submission of nomination papers for election of member of executive committee.
4.                    As the both parties agreed to extend the date of submission of nomination papers, therefore, the Secretary General of WCCIPD is directed to seek approval of the Executive Committee for amending the election schedule of the Chamber of the election 2024-26 to the extent of extending the date of submission of nomination papers for election of executive committee and subsequent electoral process.
4. This issues with the approval of the Regulator TOs.
