Levies Force to Be Officially Transferred to Police in Quetta, Gwadar, Lasbela & Hub–Balochistan Home Department Notification:
In a landmark administrative development, the Government of Balochistan Home Department has issued a formal government notification dated 22nd April 2025, ordering the complete handover of Levies Force personnel and assets to District Police Officers (DPOs) in Quetta, Gwadar, Lasbela, and Hub districts. This move follows high-level decisions taken during the IHD meeting co-chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Commander 12 Corps Headquarters.
The directive emphasizes an urgent, complete transfer within a week’s time. The notification includes the handover of Levies Proper (including Federal Levies) along with all weapons, vehicles, wireless equipment, and infrastructure, excluding Levies Lines. A signed handover/takeover certificate from concerned Deputy Commissioners and SSPs must be submitted to the Home Department no later than 29th April 2025.

1) The Deputy Commissioner, District Quetta.
2) The Deputy Commissioner, District Gwadar.
3) The Deputy Commissioner, District Labella.
4) The Deputy Commissioner, District Hub.
Subject: HANDING OVER OF LEVIES PERSONNEL AND ASSETS TO DISTRICT POLICE OFFICERS/ SSPs.
The undersigned is directed to refer to subject cited above and to state that in pursuance of the decisions taken in IHD co-chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Balochistan and Commander 12 Corps Headquarters, following directions are hereby conveyed for implementation within a week without fail repeat, without fail:
a. Entire Levies Force (Levies Proper including Federal Levies) of your district be handed over to concerned DPO within the stipulated timelines;
b. All assets, including weapons, ammunitions, vehicles, wireless communications gadgets, levies infrastructure, excluding Levies Lines, be handed over to concerned SSP within ibid timeframe;
c. Once the entire force is handed over to SSP, concerned DPOS shall be obligated concerned Deputy Commissioners for implementation of municipal & other special laws and maintenance of public order. (Requirement of such number of Levies to be shared with concerned DPOs by DCs as soon as possible).
d. A proper handing over / taking over certificate duly signed by concerned DCs and SSPS with all details to be shared with Home Department (Mr. Javaid Ahmed Kurd, Cell # 03218125643) by 29th April, 2025 repeat by 29th April, 2025.
02. Nevertheless, the Director General Balochistan Levies Force is directed to coordinate with concerned Deputy Commissioners and DPOS for implementation of above directions.

Once completed, DPOs and SSPs will take full operational control of law enforcement duties, while Deputy Commissioners will continue overseeing municipal and special law enforcement matters through required personnel coordination.
This integration reflects Balochistan’s commitment to centralized governance, effective policing, and improved inter-agency coordination in public interest. The Director General of Balochistan Levies has been tasked to fully coordinate this transition to ensure smooth execution at all levels.
