Gilgit-Baltistan Government Declares Public Holiday to Honor Aga Khan-IV:
The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has officially declared 6th February 2025 (Thursday) as a public holiday across the region. This decision comes in remembrance of His Highness Aga Khan-IV, Shah Karim Al-Hussaini, the revered spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, who passed away recently.
As per the official government notification, all government offices and departments within Gilgit-Baltistan will remain closed on 6th February 2025. The holiday allows citizens, particularly followers of the Ismaili community, to observe mourning and pay their respects to Aga Khan-IV’s legacy and contributions.
The notification has been issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring that all relevant authorities are informed. Notification Describes;
